About Me

Karen Poole is the Social Media Manager for the Sacramento Capitals World Team Tennis League. She has expanded their social media reach over the past two years through integrative social campaigns using Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. She has a passion for tennis and promoting its growth in emerging markets.

Karen grew up in Oregon and went on to attend Walla Walla University where she led the collegiate basketball team. A two year starter, Captain and MVP, she earned a degree in Business and Marketing in 2009. Poole’s passion for advancing women and sports did not end in college and she continues to motivate and inspire women around the world to challenge themselves through sports.

With an active blog, Reason To Play, Poole shares her athletic endeavors and love of advancing women in sports on a weekly basis. She has worked with various female focused fitness brands over the past few years. In 2012, she was an Ambassador for the Nike Women’s Marathon and worked with Nike Women to share her journey on multiple social channels. Currently, Karen is an Athleta Sponsored Athlete and leads a weekly run club to introduce running to women in the local community.

Poole enjoys promoting women’s fitness through volunteering with Girls on the Run, and as an ambassador for multiple women’s race series – See Jane Run, Esprit de She, and Pretty Muddy Women’s Mud Run Series.
